Never assume

Easier said than done, because assumptions are common place for all of us. In any relationship - workplace or home. Especially when we get busy or we undergo significant change - perhaps its an unprecedented scale of change or the rate of change that clouds things. But we can easily find ourselves down the track without the necessary engagement from our team, or pressing ahead and others aren't operating with the same intent.

There's a multitude of scenarios I can describe here, that will seem familiar to us, and 9 times out of 10 the answer will lie in communication.

Get the message right, get the delivery right and the opportunity for your audience to fill in the blanks themselves diminishes. More importantly the outcome is a far more beautiful picture.
